Author:
A web content management system (web CMS) is a bundled or stand-alone application used to create, manage, store, and deploy content on Web pages. Web content includes text and embedded graphics, photos, video, audio, and code (e.g., for applications) that renders other content or interacts with the user. A web CMS may also catalog or index content, select or assemble content at runtime, or deliver content to specific visitors in a personalized way, such as in different languages.

In the coming weeks, we will be looking at and experimenting with one of the most complete Web CMS available as Open Source: ocPortal.

We will be doing this in two stages:

First : Deploying ocPortal on your local PC Web Server

Second: Deploying ocPortal on your personal Webspace online Web Server

You will find ongoing Documentation, Download links and Tutorials available in the Student Menu section under CMS - Tutorials.

Very nice and useful info. Does someone know if there is a tutorial on making changes (adding and removing) on the standard OCportal default like we did yesterday (Tue 15/5) in class?

Mike, you will find it in the download section of the Virtual Classroom. New Tutorials will be added regularly…keep watching!
